Indian Hill Cemetery
Rules and Regulations
These rules and regulations are intended to protect and enhance the operation, maintenance and general public aesthetic appearance of the Indian Hill Cemetery and shall be applicable to all visitors, owners and contractors utilizing the facilities of the Indian Hill Cemetery.
- Lot owners are prohibited from planting trees, shrubs, vines or plants of any variety on any lot(s) without the written permission of the Indian Hill Cemetery Board.
- No ornamental objects are allowed. This includes but is not limited to: fencing, coping, chairs, benches or birdbaths.
- No lot(s) shall be raised above the established ground level.
- Underground vaults or grave liners are required for all interments.
- All grave markers are to be constructed of granite, marble or bronze. Concrete or wooden markers, as well as, ornamental objects (see 2 above) are prohibited.
- All interments are required to be marked with a standard (12″ x 24″) marker. Marker deposits will be refunded upon satisfactory proof to the Cemetery Board that a marker is in place and paid in full.
- The transfer of grave sites between individuals without notification to the Cemetery Board is prohibited and could cause problems for future interments.
- The use of backhoes or similar mechanical devices to prepare graves for interment are prohibited.
- The Indian Hill Cemetery Board and/or trustees have the authority to enter upon any grave sites to remove any prohibited item(s).
- The Indian Hill Cemetery Association, Cemetery Board and the Indian Hill Baptist Church disclaim all responsibility for loss or damage caused by the elements, thieves, vandals and/or malicious makers.
